I went to Queen’s Hospital for an emergency caesarean. I felt it was the worst care I have ever had in my life from any one. Only 6 hours after the operation I was told by a member of staff to get on with it as I didn’t need any help and I must learn. I was a first time mum and in so much pain. I still could not move my toes, so how could I walk to pick my baby up and feed him?
I had 2 black outs because of my anaemia. When I pressed the help button no one came. I asked for pain killers and they said they had lost the key to the cupboard. I asked for a clean sheet twice for my bed because I was still bleeding very heavily but no one came. I could go on and on because I feel it was the worst 2 weeks of my life due to the bad care I got. I had nightmares of just being in the hospital and I now feel that I won’t have another baby because of this. I feel it has traumatised me for life.
So much more I would like to say, but I won’t because I feel it’s personal.
