"Lost referral letter"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I have been waiting for a referral to Hurstwood Park since 3rd November 2015. I contacted the neurology department at the DGH in January only to be told that the only thing that could be done was to fax through my details through to Hurstwood to see if they could look into it. I heard nothing back and I left it another month.

I have now resorted to speaking to my GP, who has established find that no referral letter has been sent through from the DGH to Hurstwood! I have been waiting for over 3 months for this appointment and to find out that no referral has been made is extremely frustrating.

We're concerned to read about your experience of a lost referral letter between the Neurology Department at Eastbourne DGH to Hurstwood Park and we fully understand that this must be very frustrating for you.

In order for us to look into whats happened, we would be grateful if you would contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS). They will be able to liaise with Trust staff to resolve the query.

PALS can be contacted on 01323 435886 or by email at: esh-tr.PALSE@nhs.net.

We apologise that things have not run smoothly and we would like the opportunity to find out the reason for this.
