Admitted to the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan yesterday for a hernia repair, I have the utmost respect and admiration for all the staff involved from the consultant, Mr Haque to the auxiliaries and all the staff on Langtree ward who had a part in my care.
Having had 2 previous hernia repairs at another hospital 25 years ago I obviously had some anxieties but my experience at Wigan RAE was so positive and caring, all staff I came into contact with so supportive, friendly and incredibly professional that I have no hesitation in rating the level of care and service I received as 1st class from start to finish.
I would like to say a public thank you to all the staff responsible for my care and in a time where we quite often see negativity being reported about the NHS I feel privileged to have seen the best of the health service.
"Truly professional and 1st class service for a hernia repair"
