About: Western Eye Hospital

I am extremely grateful to all of the staff at the Western Eye Hospital for the excellent care I received when I had a detached retina in January. The waiting times in A and E and outpatients are long, but all of the people I saw – receptionists, nurses, day ward and operating theatre staff, pharmacists and doctors- were kind and professional and gave me clear information at all stages.

It was a bit nerve-wracking having to wait two days for my operation, but the outcome so far is excellent.

More resources are clearly needed to shorten waiting times.
