"Oncology OPD Experience"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Having cancer is very distressing and this was not helped by a visit to the LRI Oncology OPD. Staff appeared to not know what the procedure was for getting further appointments. Was told to go to the reception to make an appointment for 1 weeks time where the receptionist told me that they knew nothing about this and that this was not the procedure. Went into see the doctor with my husband - the doctor directed most of their conversation at my husband, even though I am the one with cancer. Left the appointment feeling confused and distressed.
