"Massive Waiting Lists"

About: Leicester General Hospital

After receiving a pain treatment in August 2014, that is supposed to be repeated three times a year, an enquiry as to why I have not been sent a fresh appointment yet, resulted in being told that it will be at least another 6 months wait. So it will be a total wait of at least 10 months altogether. What happened to the Government pledge to treat everyone in 18 weeks I asked? It does not apply to this was the reply.

An atrocious service that just leaves patients in pain while the well-off go private making the Doctors even richer.

It probably suits them very well to have long waiting lists. The rest of us just carry on paying taxes for no service.

Response from Leicester General Hospital

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we are just disappointed to hear it was not a positive one and would like to apologise for the frustrations you have faced.

We ask that you please contact Administration Manager, Linda Chesterton on 0116 258 8277 or email linda.chesterton@uhl-tr.nhs.uk with further details. As you have posted this anonymously, it would be difficult for Linda to prepare in advance without seeing your notes and history, so it would be best to discuss this initially so she can investigate it further for you.

If you have already sent this information as an official complaint to the Patient Information and Liaison Service (PILS) team, you will be contacted by the service directly so there is no need to contact Linda unless you have any further questions.

Best wishes
