"The doctor abusive and arrogantly shouted at me..."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I saw the consultant in pain clinic who has been the most arrogant.; unhelpful ; disrespectful doctor without any empathy i have ever met for my huge pain and the sad diagnosis of cancer.

I am a colleague Consultant NHS and the doctor was not empathetic neither able to listen.

She shouted at me in clinic asking what i wanted to be prescribed in a very bad manners.

The doctor never read my notes including the result of my CT Scan where it was essential for the management plan.

The doctor should not upset patients with cancer and for this reason i am going to contact the GMC as she can not treat pain at all and makes oncological patients more anxious and upset

Response from Leicester Royal Infirmary

Dear Mrs Blanco,

We are incredibly sorry to hear about your experience with the Pain Clinic, this behaviour is in no way acceptable and does not reflect the values that we so proudly promote as a Trust.

We are also very sorry in the delay in getting back to you. We can see that you posted your comment at the end of September, but unfortuately the NHS Choices moderation team have only just published this on our account.

As this is a very serious complaint, we strongly reccommend you contact our Patient Information and Liaison Service (PILS) to log your concerns officially. This can be done online at https://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/patients/patient-welfare/patient-information-and-liaison-service/contact-form/

Kind regards
