About: Nuffield Health, Brentwood Hospital

Had a procedure under anaesthetic. Had to walk to theatre as building works were going on and I could not be wheeled down. I was not informed of this before admission so I did not bring

Suitable clothing and footwear. When entering the anaesthetic and then I got on the bed and had to ask for a blanket of room was freezing cold the anaesthetist had to ask for an electric fire and plug it in while I was being put under.

I am sorry to hear about your experience at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital immediately prior to anaesthetic.

We take all concerns and complaints seriously.

I have investigated this with our theatre team.

Whilst we undergo some refurbishment in our theatres we needed to open a temporary passage way, this is not the normal route patients would be taken along.

Unfortunately your experience happened on the first day of this change in process.

I am really sorry that you felt cold whilst being transferred and did not have sufficient information in advance to be more suitably attired.

Whilst I appreciate this is a little late to help you we have learnt from your experience and immediately put in new processes to ensure no other patients felt cold and they are provided with suitable clothing.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us and I trust the rest of your stay went well.

If you would like to discuss this further then please give me a call on 01277 695639 or email Richard.coggings@nuffieldhealth.com
