"Very disappointed"

About: Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust

I attended the Day Surgery Unit 2 for minor surgery on my wrist. This was the 1st February. I was kept in for the whole afternoon and evening to then be told that my operation could not go ahead because some equipment had not arrived. I was discharged at about 1830 and told by the ward sister that my partner had been called to collect me. So I went outside and waited, after some time no one turned up and I was upset and confused having not eaten all day. I was forced to get a taxi home at the cost of £25. I got home and found out that my partner had not been called. My partner called the ward to be told that there were no records of who had called. I was left very upset and would not recommend Frimley Park.

Dear Kelly

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I'm sorry your surgery was cancelled and for the miscommunication regarding your discharge.

I understand that the surgeon spoke to you and apologised that the right equipment wasn’t available, and the sister saw you the following day when you came back and apologised about the miscommunication.

This has been followed up by the sister since then as well and a response sent to our PALS team so I hope this is resolved for you now.

Thank you for raising your concerns

Kind Regards

Claire Marshall
