"Professional experience"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Having recently been discharged I spent time on ward 4 having undergone a apronectomy. I was only on the ward a short time and the care I received was excellent ! As a nurse myself it's easy to compare care from a nurses prospective , however on this Cassio. I was the patient . The CSW spent a lot of time giving 1-1 care and they were at all times , respectful , dignified and understanding , a credit to the department . The others nursing staff were a joy to be around , very professional and a great sense of humour . I believe that this unit should be given a make over as it doesn't reflect the perfection from its staff and it's very dated . Apart from that good work team your simply fabulous xxx

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience whilst you were recently a patient on Ward 4. It was so pleasing to read your comments and to hear of the high standard of care you received; please be assured that your kind comments have been forwarded to the relevant senior staff to share with the whole team.

We do appreciate that areas of the hospital would benefit from refurblishment and to that end, are working to complete an environmental improvement programme across all areas. As you will appreciate, that work will take some time to complete; however, in the interim, I can confirm that Ward 4, like all other wards is re-decorated as part of a 5 year rotational programme and is due for re-decorating during 2016-17
