The week or so before Christmas in 2015 found me acutely unwell, gratefully I saw the community Heart Failure Matron and admission was planned as urgent. A bed was found for me in the Lancashire Suite within 24 hours.
This cardiology Unit is locally well know for general excellence in care and on this occasion it was 5 star.
Such was my condition and care provided that I was seen by medical staff including Consultants who were really human. From day one it was made clear that every effort would be made to get me home by Christmas. I was a close thing as it was 5pm on Christmas Eve but home I came with everything in order. 6 days in hospital (if such a thing is possible) was excellent, nursing staffs at all levels and ancillary staffs showed great professionalism.
I am so glad that having a significant cardiac condition I have these staff to fall back on and my community services, including GP and Practice are always there for me.
