"A and E visit"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

My brother who has late stage Motor Neurone Disease was taken to A and E on Saturday morning with suspected chest infection.I explained to the staff that he could speak and they treated him with the utmost respect and gently moved him while he was examined. I was told he was very poorly and that he was going to be moved to the privacy of a side bay where I was able to sit with him . The staff came in frequently to see me and check my brothers condition even though the department had become very busy during the afternoon. It turned out that my brother rallied and was returned to his care home later in the evening. The staff were under great pressure but kept smiling even when they were being shouted at by a couple of troublesome people.. I would like to thank the staff .

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback on the care received by your brother at the Hospital. We are pleased that, in the circumstances, it was a positive experience.
