I was sent to Aintree Hospital by my GP for a Chest xray after having extreme pain in my side and shoulder for 3 days. Even though thousands has been spent on parking its horrendous at 7.45am there was a que to get into the multi-story, panicking about work I went and found a space in Walton neuro paying 5.50 for over 3 hours as I had no idea how long I would be. I headed of to A+E as that is where you used to get x-rays, No one could tell me the correct place to go, I spoke to the most unfriendliest porter who grunted and ignored me then got in the lift, I finally got directed to radiology, then radiology outpatients, then radiology Ellective care centre at the very back of the hospital. When I had finished having the Xray, I was spoken to like complete dirt from the person working in the department as I did not understand that they would not tell me if they could see anything wrong at that time. They need to understand that they are seeing patients that may be feeling awful, and have been up all night in pain, the last thing they need is to be spoken down to in an aggressive, nasty and rude manner. I told them not to talk to me the way they were as I was only asking questions , to be informed it was cause "i am not listening" I asked if I could go to A and E as obviously a pain in your lung and arm is very concerning! Only to be told there is a 12 hour wait and to go back to my GP! (12 hours?) I previously waited 7 hours to see a doctor after a car crash last year also so after two bad experiences in 12 months, I do not ever wish to go back to this hospital, staff morale seems to be at an all time low, and there is blatantly no communication between staff. I have worked for the NHS for 14 years and actually did my training at Aintree 10 years ago and it was nothing like its is today. I know there will be fantastic doctors and nurses that do an amazing job, but those few that spoil it really have a lot to answer for, I have passed it on to the complaints team now, something I have never done before.
