"A follow-up visit to the breast care unit"

About: Leighton Hospital

After a routine breast scan I was recalled for further checks. The letter recalling me explained that about 4% of those with scans were re-called, and of those recalled 3 out of 4 were cleared. But I was very worried, partly because I have had cysts removed from my breasts on 6 previous occasions. On the day I arrived 5 minutes early I was attended to immediately, with an apology that they had called me back. In record time I had an ultra sound scan and an X ray, with continuing kindness and consideration, then saw a member of staff who advised me that what had been seen in a breast, was just scar tissue from a previous operation. No problem. My husband had spent a few minutes finding a car parking space, and was very pleasantly surprised to see me finished so quickly. We called at a garden centre to celebrate!!
