"First Class treatment from Maternity Dlivery Suite"

My daughter and son in law had their baby daughter at Southend Maternity two weeks ago.My daughter was taken in to be induced.The staff were extremely kind and caring and explained everything that would be happening for the induction so my daughter felt relaxed and not nervous.I arrived to be present during her labour and the staff were just amazing.There were plenty of staff to assist and my daughter,who had been very nervous about childbirth,was so calm and relaxed that she only needed gas and air throughout and I am convinced that was due to the expertise of the midwives who kept her calm and focussed.Unfortunately my daughter suffered a tear so had to go to post natal surgery where the staff were once again so friendly and efficient that my daughter returned from an hour and a half of surgery with a big smile on her face.We can't thank you all enough.As we know...there are too many bad NHS hospital experiences happening daily but Southend Maternity deserves full credit for an excellent professional standard of care .
