"My feedback for Highate Hospital"

About: Highgate Private Hospital

My husband kindly took the day off to take me to the hospital and stayed with me to the end. It was stress free for me and him. As we arrived early in the morning we were able to park the car at the Hospital and without having to pay. It was easy access and easy to leave the premises later on that day. At the reception the member of staff was very welcoming and gave me the registration form straight away. Once completed I gave it back to them and they kindly asked me to wait until someone came to take me to my room. I did not wait too long until a person came to take us to my room and they started explaining how everything worked. Then one by one the nurses came in and looked after me very well and the consultant came last to let me know about the procedure and if I wanted to have a sedative. I decided that I would have one. The nurse came back later on and asked me to get changed. Soon after that another nurse took me to the operating room. Everything went smoothly in the operating room and everyone was very good to me and followed all the protocols that needed to be put into practice. I don't recall any pain as such and it went very quickly as if nothing had happened. When I was brought back into my room I was a little bit nauseous because I only asked for a small dose of sedative. My husband was there with me. Then I was asked if I wanted to eat. My breakfast was brought to me in no time. I was feeling quiet good though with just some discomfort in my throat. So all this to say that I was very well looked after and cared for. The nurses and especially the one allocated to me was so nice to me and looked after me very well indeed. The hospital was very clean and the staff had a high standard of professionalism. In overall I will give them 5 stars. I only wished that the consultant explained to me in greater detail the results of my gastroscopy. As a patient I do not know what to ask for. Its when I got home that I wondered if I understood it all. I was given a copy of all symptoms I could expect to experience afterwards and a letter to hand in to my GP with a phone number to contact if needed. I would definitely recommend this Hospital to NHS patients as I was overall very satisfied with my experience during my stay as a day case patient.
