"They really listened to me"

After a horrible experience yesterday at a different travel clinic, I realised I still needed some jabs in a hurry and booked myself an appointment online with Nomads clinic. I was very anxious about going after my traumatic experience the previous day. But Nomads (south Molton St) were SO GOOD! I booked a longer appointment for vaccinations as I have multiple health issues. As soon as the nurse went through my records she said "Ah well you have had bad reactions to vaccines before, plus you have chronic fatigue syndrome and allergies, so we have to choose carefully and make sure you have the right jabs". She looked online and showed me the Travax site ( http: //www. travax. nhs. uk/) and found there was no Yellow Fever or Malaria or Typhoid and low probability of Rabies in the areas I would be visiting. We went through my previous jab records together and in the end I only needed one shot (yesterday at a previous clinic they were trying to give me everything and were hysterically pushy about it).
When administering the injection she got me to relax my shoulder and my arm and the needle didn't hurt at all! She then gave the leaflet from the box the injection came from, and told me to read it at home but only if I felt side effects and to tell my doctor if I got any side effects. She also wrote to my doctor to tell them what jab I had.
Also after I had my jab the nurse made me sit down for a while to check I didn't have a reaction and then they got me to sit in their shop as I was having one long hot flush after my injection and the girl serving in the shop was also very attentive. During my appointment we also discussed mosquito protection, dengue fever, zika virus and was given a leaflet about these and other diseases. She also talked to me about sun protection. I need a typhoid jab for a subsequent trip later in the year and the nurse advised me to get that one in a month or so, after my first trip. She told me I could get it from Nomads orally (£10 more) or by injection, but she also said I could get it from my doctor.
Maybe it's because I had such a horrible experience yesterday where I was being intimidated and pushed around that this is such a contrast and I am so happy!
They really listened to me, understood my health problems, took time to find out the right information for my destination, showing me maps from the Travax site. I had made an appointment with the London School of Tropical Medicine for next week but will cancel this now as I am now ready for my trip.
