"Total knee replacement"

About: Halton Surgical Centre

I have now had 2 total knee replacements and 2 hip replacements with you the last 3 at the Halton

C..M.T.C unit. My priority was always survival and thankfully that was always achieved! Those procedures have allowed me to maintain a quality of life and dignity that I would have lost. For that I am forever indebted to the whole of your team. Thank you all!. I don't write this to be patronising, I write it from the heart. When I say team I mean team. Some of you I will never have met, office staff for example and many others. I realise the importance of every one of you in making my operation successful and comfortable but what's special is that inspite of everything , it has always been pleasant! I remember many of you from previous encounters, cleaning staff, catering ,physio, pharmacy, nursing staff, surgical, reception, porters and X-ray. It goes on. That continuity helps you feel at ease. I remember this time being a little concerned that the surgeon I'd always had wasn't available . I mean you don't swap a good mechanic easily! My fears were un warranted. In fact after a visit on this occasion ,I witnessed a minor miracle and within minutes it was dealt with. As I pointed out , the surgeon had competition!, in the nicest way. I must mention one person - On finishing their shift at 8 p.m they came to the ward to say good bye since they wouldn't be in till the weekend and I would have gone home. That person had been appointed one of my nurses from the outset. They were pleasant and thorough and impressed me so much that as long as people like them continue to enter the health service we are in safe hands. If I was a king I would not have been cared for any better. From the bottom of my heart thank you all x
