As a young person experiencing difficulties due to mental illness I was scared of the facility due to the low rating on this page, all comments are valid and so this in now way is intended to serve as an argument and from personal experience I know that some staff can behave appalingly, however I leave this review as a message to whichever young people come here seeking an answer to questios they may ask before coming to Ash Villa. I had an overwhelmingly positive experience of staff and the facilities. Of course I experienced a nasty member of staff but nurses are just normal people and this is to be expected in any environment. The facilities were clean, spacious and comfortable. I found that any of my needs were quickly catered to and in meetings doctors and other staff listened to me and were respectful to me. Having struggled greatly in past and present I found my time at Ash Villa to be a welcome break from mental illness with few responsibilities and friendly patients and staff the safe-feeling environment no doubt helped me. I wish the best to any future or present inpatients and to the hardworking staff.
