"Speechless!"

I received a letter regarding my son's referral to dermatology (9 weeks after the referral was made) telling me to call a named person asap as they had not been able to contact me - the conversation that followed was like something out of a Carry On film! The person I eventually spoke to did not know which day was which nor where any of the clinics were. There is a clinic 5 minutes away from me but they wanted to send me 40 miles away! After around 10 minutes debate, they told me the appointment would be at the Royal Infirmary at Stafford (there is no Royal Infirmary in Stafford!) I told them this but they said the postcode began ST16 and by this time I was losing the will to live so said ok.

I received the confirmation letter the following day - with an address and map to a hospital that was demolished 20, yes twenty years ago! It is now a retail park! So now I will have to contact my local hospital to see if the appointment is there - if not, I give up!
