I became unwell and was getting worse so phoned 111.
I thought that this service was first class. Very friendly and helpful person. I recognised the logic in some of the questions, although obviously not applying to my circumstances, would need to be checked to access my level of urgency.
I was made an appointment in the nearby Hospital (Stroud). Where I quickly saw Paramedic, Alex - EEP. He was superb. He carefully accessed my problems, examined me thoroughly, explaining his exact finding, he gave me immediate treatment, checked the success and fully understood all my circumstances.
My reason for coming was acute hiatus hernia, with vomiting, but I was also short of breath. I have a history of the former and have long term asthma. With the agreement of the GP (in next room) he gave me a number of tablets and carefully explained the dosage and expected outcomes. He then spent a few minutes giving me very sensible advice about my life style choices and how best to protect my long term health give my predispositions to stomach and chest problems combines with my age (65) and the fact I travel running my own business extensively between countries.
I found the whole experience, reassuring, professional and very well done. I thought Alex's careful, considerate approach was superb.
Thank you!
"My positive all round experience"
