I was greeted with a smile, handed a sheet and asked to fill it in. The waiting room was clean and warm with magazines to read and smiling staff passing in and out.
My turn came and I was ushered into a curtained cubicle and asked questions about the form I filled in. Whilst checking my birth date the young man turned to me and wished me a Happy Birthday!
I was then shown into another dressing cubicle where I changed into a gown and was duly called from there by another charming lady, who made sure that I was comfortable on the screening couch and explained what was to happen.
Half an hour later I was on my way home
I am taking this opportunity to praise the staff not only of this department, but of the whole hospital, who are all very kind and take great care of their patients despite an overwhelming workload.
I know how dispiriting it is to be criticised for something beyond your control ( in the case of CUH not enough staff to carry out the heavy demand). I believe it to be the same in most hospitals, but during my rather too frequent visits lately I have never been treated with anything but courtesy and the greatest care for an elderly lady!
Thank you all.
