"I have attended the Accident and ..."

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I have attended the Accident and Emergency section several times. In recent years it has been updated. Each time my daughter and myself have been treated well - and in my most recent attendance, I got better treatment than my local very experience GP, by someone with the same level of training but less expereince

What could be improved

The waiting area is not comfortable - especially when attendees are in pain and cannot really sit on hard chairs. The waiting time and status is not obvious - unlike in the main hospital. More information on progress would be appreciated.

Thank you for your feedback about your recent visit to the A & E Department and for recognising the investment in the area over the last few years. We very much appreciate feedback. Since your last visit we have upgraded information about anticipated waiting time which is now constantly displayed on plasma screens. The design and material of the chairs is very much governed by the Hospitals commitment to infection control, although recognising your point, they are made to be as comfortable as possible. If you would like any further information, please contact Louisa Grice, Patient Advice Liaison Services Manager; telephone number 01480 428964 or by email to pals@hinchingbrooke.nhs.uk.
