"Waiting time"

I have been in severe pain since last December, I waited 3 months to see a consultant at another hospital only to be told that I should have been sent to the Royal orthopaedic (which I did ask my doctor to send me to in the first place) I finally got to see a consultant on 7th July and am now waiting for treatment. On the whole since first being referred I have been waiting over 7 months and seems like I have been put to the back of the queue at the orthopaedic. When I phone up I am told it will not be long now but seems like the weeks turn into months, if only they could tell me an estimated time of which I still have to wait. 35 years ago I was diagnosed had numerous tests and had major surgery all within 5 months at this hospital.
