"The techical service my wife received ..."

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The techical service my wife received yesterday was good.

What could be improved

The explanations for the long delays in waiting for her operation, 7 hours in this case, were non-existent. She was far from alone in this situation and it would appear to part of the general attitude of the staff is that people could wait at their convenience. I am aware that there can be delays but when people are anxious some thought should be given to how delays will impact on their state of mind and comfort.

Anything else?

Some thought must be given to how people are passed through the process of treatment, however grateful they are for this treatment the experience is soured by the lack of care shown by the staff who handle the initial stages of the care.
