"Endoscopy Admissions waiting list office won't..."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

I was referred by a specialist at Barnet Hospital to have an endoscopy procedure. Two weeks later I received a letter from Chase Farm Hospital saying they couldn't contact me and therefore if I didn't contacted them within 14 days I'd be taken off the waiting list. I called the telephone number and extension given in the letter at least 20 times over the last two days and it just rang and rang with no one picking it up. Trying the main switchboard was no better - they just put me through to the same office and still no one picked up the phone. No voicemail, no call-back, queueing system. I read about the brand new endoscopy centre opened at Chase Farm last December but the hospital should have invested some money in improving the administration side of the service.
