"the experience of lifetime"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

i had read some horrible reviews about the hospital but to sum it up in one line "i had the unforgettable experience of life in Queens and i would love to say every individual there is so fantastic and you feel you are in great hands while trying to bring a new life into this world".

i would start by saying how amazing the midwife was who had done my first internal examination to check the dilation at my first visit but i was not dilated enough to be called in established labour but they were patient enough to explain the whole thing and suggested its best for me to go home and come back after few hours.

even second visit i was not in established labour but the midwife listened to my situation and offered to put me in labour ward till i was in established labour to go in the pool which i had opted for (water birth)

they listened to me patiently every time i needed anything or even just little support. i opted for no pain relief other than the water and they were accommodating all my needs.

when i was in the pool the midwife there was so vigilant that they didn't leave me even a second unobserved i am highly thankful to them because i was sleepy and was dozing off as i was so relaxed in the pool. they kept checking my condition and baby's condition in there very timely.

as soon as they spotted something was not right they immediately transferred me to labour ward from the birth centre as i might need intervention they had sensed.

the staff who helped me in the last stage were so amazing and they were so accommodating of my needs and requirement. they did their best to serve me and my about to be born angel that i can never thank enough each and everyone of them.

from the very first midwife in the birth centre till the last in maternity ward every individual was so patient and understanding that they won my heart and i am proud to say my baby was born in Queens.

Lovely staff and the whole experience of one the most dreadful situation of life. :)

I would firstly like to start by saying congratulations on the birth of your baby. I’m delighted to hear about your experience, thank you for taking the time to comment on your care. It’s wonderful to know that everyone treated you well, I am very proud of everyone in the maternity department as they have worked extremely hard to make sure that all our patients we care for get a positive experience. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto them, thank you one again for taking the time to make us aware of your experience.

Yours sincerely

Kathryn Halford
