I visited the endoscopy unit for a colonoscopy today (1pm). I was welcomed with a lovely smile and kind words by a very attentive receptionist who knew who'd be seeing and what would happen. She offered me kind words when I was very anxious.
When I went in for the procedure the Gastro Reg and Consultant were both very kind and informative too, and very concened that I understood that my consent was of utmost importance. they explained the procedure throughout and went through all that they'd found. I was really surprised at how down to earth and approachable the consultants were as I'd had previous bad experiences.
afterward, when I came round from the sedative, I was helped by a lovely nurse who had such a kind touch and who made sure I was ok- she brought me tea and biscuits ( its the small things that count). She welcomed my partner and explained everything clearly and was just very sweet natured. Its a lovely unit with great facilities and after dreading this for months- the staff on the unit really put me at ease. thankyou!
