About: Pinehill Hospital

I had a laparotomy for endometriosis on 25/01/16 as an NHS funded patient. I was discharged from pinehill at 2pm following a 9am surgery. By 4pm I started to become unwell, with increasing amounts of pain.

My husband and I phoned the ward at Pinehill for assistance multiple times over the next few hours. I was told to wait for ibuprofen to kick in (2 hours after taking it, when I had also taken paracetamol and codeine). We were told that the doctor was busy and we would have to call back later, that I was a day patient and they couldn't help us.

By midnight things were so bad that we called 999 and I ended up in A&E on morphine. A&E also discovered I was severely anaemic (something that pinehill had missed) and that I possibly had a post-operative infection.

We were offered no post surgery support by the staff at pinehill, who simply didn't care. Although the initial surgery was fine, once I had left the hospital I was no longer of any concern and we were given extremely poor medical advice by the pinehill staff when things went wrong.
