I am waiting to have an operation, so I was sent to pre op clinic, but because I have a sleep apnoea on my notes I was taken back off the waiting list till I was given another test for sleep apnoea to make sure I am fit for the operation, so they sent a letter to my GP for him to refer me to the OSA clinic, this took 3 weeks to sort out, so I went to the clinic and had the tests, they were great, they got me 3 appointment on 3 consecutive days so I did not have to wait long. my results were fine, so I was discharged from the clinic, the DR said ring the waiting list and tell them that I was discharged and fit for my op. but you can not do that, you have to have it in writing, my problem.
I have to wait for the DR from the sleep clinic to write to my GP so he can write to the waiting list saying I am fit for the op. why can not the pre op clinic refer me from there, then when the sleep clinic have the results they email the news to the pre op clinic that's all done internally, with little fuss. but no it makes more sense to send letter to GP to refer to the clinic so they can send letter to GP to say send another letter to pre op and this will only take a month or 2, and waste paper and every ones time, if all notes are on computers why can they not just look on the computer for the results, it's even in the same hospital, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you send this to some one in pilgrim hospital who can make sense of it all. thank you.
