"Lack of help for my husband's paranoid delusions and hallucinations"

My husband has been experiencing paranoid delusions and became frightened that we were not safe and people were targeting us. He does not really drink and does not smoke or take any illegal substances and his sudden change in personality was very worrisome. He was too terrified to function and kept rambling on about a higher organisation targeting us and that we were all in danger. He believed they were sending messages through the tv and had listening devices on the phones and were waiting outside the house. His sudden change in presentation is very uncharacteristic of him. He was unable to function, kept checking the blinds every 2 mins, fidgeting, pacing and wringing is hands together as well as rocking back and forth. I have never seen such fear.

In desperation my dad took him to A and E. He was seen by 2 AMPs who assessed him who then told him he was not for admission but to contact his own GP. He did not receive any medication for the extreme panic he was in either. I am very much disappointed with the service. For one, there were no physical checks apart from his height and BP. They did not even do the most basic checks such as a urinalysis core body temperature or any bloods to check if these delusions etc are due to a systemic infection or to investigate as to why this person who has attended A and E and also had no past mental health problems and has Acute anxiety with delusions is presenting with these symptoms.

Four days later I am still no further forward on any physical checks and my husband has been to A and E, his own GP, three towns resource centre and today through to community mental health team. I am so worried about him and feel like I am not getting anywhere further forward. To say I am disappointed in his visit to A and E is an understatement.
