"wake up"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I visited Whipps Cross Hospital today with my twisted knee. I have not been there before, so I sign up with them. They send me to Accident and emergency services, I was sitting in waiting room 5 hours without asking or calling my name. After I talked to someone at reception they tryed to sorted out what happend. All the pacientes who came after me, were already leaving home. They realized, they forgot to put my name and some other couple of people in a server to be called in order or be called at all. They appologized gentely, but with any other care to find me or the other people doctor as soon as possible. I was waiting there for one more hour. After second asking what is exactly going on and when I can get to docter, they did not know. I am really sorry, but they should just sorted out straigt away....so I asked for appoitment next day - not possible..just come before 9am and hope you´ll be first. I could not book any time to make an appoitment....which I pretty understand, but in this case, you should try harder!!

I left the hospital. So unhappy, without any care.

We are very sorry to read that you waited so long to be seen and eventually left without any treatment or care on your knee from our Emergency Department. We apologise for the long wait you had and for the receptionist not booking you in properly. As we provide emergency services, booking patients in for appointments is not a viable option as patients are seen according to their clinical needs.

We hope that you managed to see someone about your knee. Please do contact us if you would like to discuss the concerns you have raised here. You can do this by contacting our PALS Team on 020 3594 2040 or by email: pals@bartshealth.nhs.uk

We have shared your feedback with the Emergency Team.

Kind regards

Barts Health NHS Trust
