"Very good experience"

I feel I have to write this incase anyone is facing admission & terrified as I was.

I was admitted to Bransdale ward for treatment. I was treated with dignity, listened to & felt genuinely cared for. Almost all the staff were lovely & I cant fault them, even though they were very busy you were never made to feel like they didn't have time for you. The enviroment was very calm, bedroom allowed you to have your own space when you needed it, all very clean. The staff at the Occupational Therapy were fantastic too, really friendly & welcoming.

The negatives were just little things like the food really not good, the building was very cold at times & there could do with somethiing more than TV at the weekends to occupy patients.

The whole experience for me was very positive & has helped me in many ways. I am very grateful to all those who helped me.

Thank you for your positive feedback about the care and treatment your received on Bransdale Ward at Roseberry Park Hospital. It is very much appreciated that you have taken the time to provide your feedback and we will ensure that this is passed to the team on Bransdale Ward .

We were sorry to hear that your experience was not one hundred percent positive and always welcome feedback on areas where we could improve the service we deliver.

The Matron for Bransdale Ward will raise your concerns regarding the temperature of the building with the hospital estates team in order that we can improve the temperature within the ward environment. Ward menus are regularly reviewed with both staff and patients being encouraged to do ‘taste tests’ on new products in order that we can ensure the best quality produce; We will ensure that your feedback is shared with hotel services. Finally we do recognise the importance of diversional and purposeful activity and that at weekends there are less organised activities available to patients. We have recently recruited volunteers to support the ward staff in promoting increased activity options and we have also agreed with the occupational therapy department that wards can use the activity suite outside of their working hours for patient activity. We continue to purchase new board games and other equipment to ensure that ward based activities are also available.

Thank you again for providing us with your feedback to help us continuously improve the service we deliver.
