"Shame on the doctor!!"

About: The Royal London Hospital

I Have visited the acident and emergency today(19th january2016) , I had a head injuri last year and was bleedind through nose very badly had an opperation in Northampton general hospital There I have got the best ever care in my life ! .. Some how recently My pressure in nose incresed badly and I am very much scared about bleading and blood mixed caugh.. though from receiption they were fine gave me appointment with the doctor they did there job well enough .. after that nurse took the blood pressure and reffered to a doctor .. after waiting another hour doctor came and called me into their room .. the doctor just listened my problems and gave me a box of codeine phosphate 30mg tabs to t and Naseptin Nasal Cream and then I told them I feel my brain burning and feel like it is comming out when I go to bed thats really uncomfortable to me.. I am really scared about my condition .even then the doctor did not check inside my nose ..the doctor was saying a/e is only for people who seems dying ...

best thing they did for me is suggesting me to see a private clinic.. even the doctor was saying that being a nhs gp they also goes to private clinics when they are sick.. Shame !! Should this type of behaviour helpful for a patient ??

We are sorry to read of your experience Jakir. We try to ensure that patients who do not need immediate emergency treatment are directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional in order that the Emergency Department is able to help the sickest patients with minimal delay.

However, it is not great to hear that the doctor told you A&E is for people that are dying and also to go to a private clinic.

We apologise for this.

Thank you for raising this with us. We have passed your feedback onto the team in A&E so that they are able to look into this. If you would like to discuss your concerns further please contact our PALS Team on 020 3594 2040 or email: pals@bartshealth.nhs.uk

Kind regards

Barts Health NHS Trust
