"Corridor. The new waiting room"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

Had to have my mam taking into Cramlington tonight.

Third time this weekend.

There was twelve people in a queue either on a bed or a wheelchair in the corridor waiting to be seen.

The paramedics were checking people in at the main desk. This is a total disgrace. If it wasn't for the fact I would probably have been thrown out I would have taken a picture just to prove to people how degrading this was to ill people waiting to be seen.

Dear Lindsey

I’m sorry if it looks as though it has taken a few days to respond to you, there seems to be a delay in us receiving comments from NHS Choices.

Please be assured I have responded as soon as I was able to.

It is unclear exactly when your mum was brought in, but the hospital has been extremely busy in recent days. However your comment does not make for pleasant reading and I’m sorry this has been your impression of our care.

I’m also concerned to hear that this is the third time that you have brought your mum in this weekend and would like to find out more about the circumstances around this. Without having your details, or that of your mum, I am unable to contact you but it would be very helpful if you could get in touch with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 032 0202 who will work with us to find out more information.

I look forward to hearing from you.

With best wishes

Claire Riley, director of communications and corporate affairs
