I am writing this review a little late but I wanted to express my gratitude to all the staff at the Royal Sussex.
I was admitted into hospital early in my pregnancy with a kidney infection. The staff at A and E were all very kind and caring despite it being very busy due to a bank holiday.
I was then transferred to various wards for the duration of my stay. This in itself was not a problem and in one way turned out to be a huge blessing! My first night in the hospital was spent in a day ward with one other patient (there were no available beds in the ward I was meant to be transferred to.) We had one to one care throughout the night and the staff did everything to make us comfortable and provide us with our yummy food!
When I was transferred to the right ward, my level of care remained excellent. The staff explained everything clearly and went out of their way to ensure the best possible care. The household staff were wonderful and even made sure I had something to take with when I was going to miss meal times.
I am still particularly grateful to the junior doctor who I first met in A and E who came to check up on me a few times throughout my stay to see how I was doing. Their reassurance and care put me to ease.
When it came to being discharged the staff in the discharge lounge were very efficient which meant I got my medicine quickly so I could get home to continue to recover.
Thank you to everyone at the hospital for this stay and for the continuing care I have received during my pregnancy. The support from the various departments I have been in contact with has been outstanding.
