My 16 week old baby had a MRI scan today, the appointment was at 3:30 but my letter said to be there an hour and half before hand. I wasn't allowed to give her a feed for 4 hours before being sedated. So by the time we got there and settled before the sedation she was screaming, I was waiting over an hour before they actually came in to start sedating her. Straight after I gave her the medicine she fell asleep, a nurse came in about 20 mins after and woke her up, just for her to fall back to sleep. By the time a nurse took us down we had to wait 15 mins before going into the room where the scanner was. My daughter by this time was starting to stir and wake up, I took her into the room placed her on the bed in front of the scanner where the doctor was getting her prepared to go into the scanner, just as the doctor was walking out my daughter completely woke up, the medicine wore off and she was having a full on screaming fit for her milk. My baby was very stressed because of this whole situation. My little girl would have been scanned if we didn't have to wait 2o mins for a nurse to take us down!!
