"Colonoscopy following months of IB"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

The staff on the ward who took care of me and prepared me for my first colonoscopy were absolutely amazing.

Not only were the staff patient with my endless questions prior to the examination, they were very supportive after the procedure. Even when I had a little wobble emotionally following my colonoscopy, the nursing staff ensured that they kept me company, cheered me up and most importantly validated my feelings of vulnerability by explaining that I do not have to go through the process of being diagnosed with an IBD alone. I am forever grateful for the care and compassion they showed me.

Hello Ashleigh, it sounds like the staff have done a fantastic job in supporting you through this procedure. I can understand how this procedure could make you feel vulnerable and I am very pleased that the staff showed you such compassion and support. I will share your comments with the team; they will be really pleased that the support they gave made such a difference to you, thank you.
