"Poorly run unit"

About: Wycombe Hospital

we attended miiu with my elderly mother in law we booked in at reception the receptionist never lifted their head from the screen even after we said head injury and the age of the patient was 83 was told take a seat and may have a wait of two hours . No one came to triage my mother in law bearing in mind she had fallen and had a nasty gash on her head that needed stitching and was bleeding

2 hours went by. And a nurse came over to Us And said and I quote oh I have just looked down my list and I see your mother in law takes warfarin you will have to go to stoke mandeville she needs a ct scan understandably I was extremely irritated at this and asked why no one had told us before and why hadn't reception alerted the nurse. To the fact she had a head injury and and was bleeding and maybe the nurse would have checked sooner

I was told don't have a go at me and reception are not trained to ask the question

Pathetic and when we left reception staff just looked and really couldn't have cared less

We left attended Stoke mandeville and left there at 2.30 am the following morning

It doesn't fill me with confidence it appears to be run by incompetent staff who clearly have no initiative

On top of that the unit was dirty /grubby paper and bowls all over the floor and that incessant role on the TV of what you should attend the unit with .

Very very poor and the awful thing is it really wouldn't take much to run that unit efficiently
