I recently attended ward two in Fothergill block for a suspected miscarriage fully expecting to have a scan and be sent home with confirmation of miscarriage. After some blood monitoring and three scans and the opinion of three doctors it was determined that I had a pregnancy of unknown location (ectopic) and the best bet was to undergo laparoscopy to determine location and removal.
From the first moment to the moment I left ward today my care was fantastic. The staff clearly wanted the very best for me and I was treated with dignity and empathy during quite a traumatic time. Busy as the staff are everyone had time to talk and explain everything, to discuss my feelings, provide pain relief - even peppermint tea for the wind after the procedure to remove one fallopian tube.
They made a difficult few days much easier to bear. Wonderful ward.
"Wonderfully caring staff"
