i have had several trips to this hosital since june with illness and a suspected hernia but had emergency femerol hernia repair on ward 15 (January2016) was told I would be given a bed but when arrived was no beds so was left sitting in a wheelchair in pain from 7.30am til 11.30am. i was given painkillers and the usual obs of blood pressure etc I was taken in a private room but then returned to a waiting room... The operation went well I was off the ward 12 til 4pm. the drs nurses and theatre staff were fantastic and as my observations were fine i was allowed home 8.30pm although I hadn't been to the toilet.
I was advised not to drive for 1 to 2 days a nurse wrote it in a booklet and was told I can return to work the following week. I contacted my gp who did a home visit and said no driving g for a month or work.
A bit worrying advice completely different to nurses advice. my groin cut was glued so no dressing on wound which did suprize me . I am recovering at home
"surgical day ward"
