"Incomplete treatment"

About: Kidderminster Hospital

Attended minor injuries unit at 16.30. With dog bit and dislocated finger. Waited for over four hours before being seen. Nurse treating me needed to contact Reddich hospital before resetting my finger. Informed that I must go to Reddich hospital to get an X-ray as there was no X-ray facility at Kidderminster. It is now nearly 21.00.

I drove myself to Reddich, 18 miles, with bandaged hand. Waited another 4 hours to be informed, that the X-ray dept was now closed, except for emergencies, which I was not.

I had not eaten or drank anything, hospital instructions, for over 8 hours. The initial pain killers were wearing off and I was getting cold and feeling faint. I decided to take my health

Into my own hands and discharged myself.
