I was admitted to kingfisher ward at. 6 am Monday 11th
I suffer from depression & servers anxiety, which cause me to isolate myself from others.
During stay felt staff put you at ease & nice recommendations regarding anxiety were well catered for.
I only have 2 negative comments comments to make, one which is extremely serious.
On night of 12th January the qualified nurse was distributing medication came to my bed space & told me I was on antibiotic, I told them I wasn't on antibiotics, they told me I was & had taken them for past 4 nights (I hadn't even been ion ward for 4 nights), they informed me they would mark as refused.
They then took my medicine chart from end of my bed, I took my regular medication that I had bought into hospital with me.
They then went to next bed & tried to give that lady medication that had been discontinued as she'd had a reaction to it.
Being a qualified nurse myself, I am aware of the importance of giving correct prescribed meditation & that regular medication training be given, I also understand the risks to patients administered wrongly & legal consequences to qualified of wrongly administering.
I fill this member of staff is not safe to be administering medication.
2. Having a food allergy it was difficult to eat hospital food, would it be possible to have dietician check wards for anyone who requires special diet, to insure meal available.
Other than this I found quite a pleasant ward.
