I attended A&E at about 5pm on the 14th Jan with my 7 year old son. He had something stuck in his eye and following advice from the GP we attended A&E. I was fully expecting a long wait as although his eye needed medical attention it was a fairly minor ailment in the scheme of things. We were triaged within 5 mins of arriving and the emergency nurse practitioner said they would be able to treat him straight away. They fully explained everything they were going to do in a way that my son fully understood and even managed to make him laugh even though we had had tears on the way to hospital as he didn't want to come!
The nurse removed the offending object and gave his eye a thorough examination explaining to him throughout what they were doing. The whole process from start to finish was 40 mins and we were home by 6pm. Absolutely excellent!
"Excellent service from A&E"
