I'm 20 and it was my first time having this procedure to determine whether I had an IBD or not. Needless to say I was nervous for many reasons, modesty, dignity, potential result and whether I'd be in pain.
I met 5 or 6 different members of staff during my appointment for different reasons, consult, administration of IV drugs, the colonoscopy itself, the aftercare. Every single member of staff I met were amazing. Everyone was very chatty, friendly, really reassuring and just made me feel completely at ease.
The nurses and doctor done everything to make me feel relaxed and comfortable. They also made me aware of extra pain relief available to me. The staff turned a nerve wracking appointment into a positive experience. I'm very grateful to all the staff involved in my care. I know to them it may be their job, but I really appreciate the standard of care I received.
"First colonoscopy, Staff were amazing!"
