"my mother's visit to A&E today at Kings College..."

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

On accompanying my elderly mother today I was very pleasantly surprised by the great care and professionalism of all the staff at the A&E department today. Mother was in great pain, had been to her GP Practice and was given far too many prescribed meds all of which was very confusing to her. I anticipated a long waiting time but within 10-20 mins. she was seen by the triage nurse; and within 1 hour of walking in was called in by a very good doctor who gave her a 70 minute consultation! They were very understanding and highly professional, very capable and I felt she was treated with dignity. Thank you to all the staff at Reception, Nurse, Doctor, for our wonderful dedicated NHS who were patient with her and treated her with respect. Mum doesn't have computer or internet so I write this on her behalf.

Thank you for your kind comments about your mother's treatment at King's A&E department. Our A&E is very, very busy and we don't always see people as quickly as we would like so it's good to hear that your mother's journey was quick and professional and that we also treated her with the respect and dignity that we always try to offer to all our patients. I do hope that she has recovered well and thank you for taking the time to share feedback on her behalf - it is always good to hear when we get things right.
