"Disgusting not keeping people informed of huge..."

I'm awaiting Gallbladder surgery and have been waiting 15 weeks already. I contacted PALS to ask where my date is and I've been told I'm realistically looking at May or June before I get my operation now. No one has kept me informed of any delays. The information on the NHS choices website is massively inaccurate, stating a wait of up to 17 weeks for 9/10 patients. Apparently the day case ward has been filled with emergency admissions so they haven't done any elective surgery for the whole of January giving them a delay of 2- 3 months. No one saw fit to inform waiting patients of this or offer any alternatives or solutions. It's an absolute disgrace. There is nothing on the Poole hospital website either. Be aware when making a 'choice' of which hospital to choose for surgery or be prepared for a lengthy delay. Patients have a right to know!!
