"First trip to gynaecologist"

About: The Great Western Hospital

I was pleased with the speed in which this appointment was made. Just 10 days after seeing GP. The consultant was informative and not rushed answered my questions and gave me some literature regrading impending surgery(hysterectomy)

Having been told there is a possibility of cancer why have I got to wait 4-6 wks for required surgery. I appreciate there may well be others in this situation but obviously more staff, or more facilities should be made available. To wait up to 6 weeks could mean the cancer spreading and in the long run be life threatening to the patient, and more expensive as extra treatment may be necessary to the hospital.

This seems like slow tourture to those waiting

At the receptionist desk on arrival they had my address and the referring doctors practice wrong which didn't give me a lot of confidence but the consultants attitude outweighed this problem
