"Gastroscope outpatient appointment"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Today I attended for a gastroscope under the 2 week rule. I was nervous but immediately put at ease. I was listened to with empathy re my concerns and not rushed and looked after with tender care. I opted for the throat spray rather than sedation. At all times I was reassured and felt in control for what turned out to be a pain free and stress free procedure. I took their advice to concentrate on my breathing and not panic. It worked well and the procedure was over v quickly. I can't praise the staff highly enough.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am very pleased you had such a positive experience and the staff will be delighted to hear how they made you feel. The team work very hard to ensure patients are comfortable and fully understand how nervous and anxious patients can be. I shall ensure you comments are passed to the team.

Many thanks

Helen
