"Emergency Department"

About: East Surrey Hospital

On 24th Jan I took my 92 year old neighbour to East Surrey A&E.

He sustained a nasty cut to his head following a fall.

The standard of care and prompt attention was surprising, given the amount of negative publicity perpetrated by the media.

He was taken through to a treatment area within minutes of our arrival.

The staff were courteous, good humoured, and professional. My wife is a nurse so I am aware of the working conditions of nursing and medical practitioners, so to receive such wonderful treatment from people working 12-13 hour shifts, earning a fairly low salary, paying to park, and struggling to get a break, was exceptional.

Dear Mr Williams,

Thank you for your very positive feedback. I will ensure that the observations you made about how well your neighbour was treated are fed back to our team in the emergency department. I know they will be pleased to receive it.

With best wishes,

Cathy White
